背景介绍

Plays a role in boundary lubrication within articulating joints. Prevents protein deposition onto cartilage from synovial fluid by controlling adhesion-dependent synovial growth and inhibiting the adhesion of synovial cells to the cartilage surface.

组织表达

Highly expressed in synovial tissue, cartilage and liver and weakly in heart and lung. Isoform B is expressed in kidney, lung, liver, heart and brain. Isoform C and isoform D are widely expressed.

Immunofluorescent analysis of 4% paraformaldehyde-fixed, 0.1% Triton X-100 permeabilized Hela (human cervical epithelial adenocarcinoma cell line) cells labeling PRG4 with BD-PB3748 at 1/25 dilution, followed by Dylight® 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody at 1/200 dilution (green). Immunofluorescence image showing cytoplasm staining on Hela cell line. Cytoplasmic actin is detected with Dylight® 554 Phalloidin at 1/100 dilution (red).The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).
